  1. Hi people, I am going to share my experience on my first online test. Yes today 23 August,2012 was my NASCOMM exam, an exam which may lead you to the top Software companies like Wipro, Infosys. I am a biotech student and how would this NASCOMM exam help me was the question which was in the minds of most of the student of my department except me because I really want to get into some software company or else research would lead me to nowhere, frankly speaking I do not want to picturize myself working in the lab wearing a white lab coat and my hair turning grey with the passing of each new day. I had no idea about NASCOMM exam till yesterday when I logged on to the official website to see the syllabus which included verbal, reasoning, analytical and domain based questions. To be very frank I had just prepared 1 day before the exam and thinking about the online exam in itself makes me tremor cause here the timer is set and once you answer the question you cannot go back. I reached the examination hall 16 minutes before and there were only two examiners and the crowd was huge and because of this I could not hear the examiner’s instruction properly plus he spoke to them in tamil(ha ha ha ha).Immedialtely after entering the hall I sat on my seat and looked at screen and clicked on the nascomm icon, after filling my data and I was taken over to the main section which included verbal reasoning and the timer started running, in the middle of my answering section, I realized that I was running shot of time and just five minutes were left , I was happy to know that I was close to completing this part but to my surprise when examiner came near me and instructed that you have only five minutes for analytical and reasoning section( WHATTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was my kinda reaction). Just few minutes before I was happy that I would be completing five minutes before but then I realized I made a mistake the total one hour included the analytical and reasoning part which takes most of the time. I was like shivering in that five minutes I had to complete 35 questions which takes most of the time and include long calculations , I made a mistake( My studying RS Agarwal, logging to sites relating to aptitude questions, studying late night, solving complex questions was worthless). I did not even read the questions but simply marked the answers as here there was no negative marking for wrong answers .But one has to move on so as soon as I finished my analytical part I moved to the domain that is biotechnology part and completed 7 minutes in advance and moved out the hall , came to the room and started writing this blog.

The lessons which I have learnt from the test and exams I have given in my life is that no matter how much you study, when you study , with whom you study at the end what matters most are those precious hours while writing the exams, they ONLY matter cause even if have studied the entire syllabus but cannot answer within those allotted hours or feel the time is too less then all your hardwork come to noose. This what the academic and competitive exams are all about.

PS: Pardon me for the grammatical mistakes if any and plz do not hesitate to point out cause I know that in these four years of my graduation my brain has been rusted due to lack of creativity , my English classes( I miss my school days) and this university where I study which I am forced to say is ……(already told about this in my first blog)

My humble request to all the invigilators is please do not speak in the examination hall while students are writing the exam , you don’t understand but students do get distracted and cannot concentrate on the solution, like it happens with me (suffered for 3 years and even today and my school examiners were entirely different and atmosphere inside the examination hall was very quite not those honking and loudspeakers I hear since the last three years). Grow up Invigilators, examination hall is not your house where you can loudly talk and discuss all personal matter amidst other people who are writing the important part of their lives and it means lot to them.
